  • Description

As estate tax planning becomes less relevant and the repeal of the federal estate tax seems a reality, the world of estate planning is rapidly changing. In fact, what sounds like the tools for the wealthy, are becoming applicable to all. Asset Protection Trusts (APT), which maximize income tax basis on death, is especially alluring but asset planning in general should be considered and offered to any client. This CLE course will explain how asset planning is constructed to provide tools for all estate planners, even those who do not specialize in asset planning. The course will explain how to view the process as a progression from simple, less costly steps to more complex, costly elements. The course will provide strategies for aligning the process with your particular client, his circumstances and budget.
