    This CLE course focuses on the defense of a construction claim. It provides information on some basic legal principles but is heavier on practical litigation tips. The course covers coverage issues, accidental versus occupational claims, date of disablement, date of contraction, §44 apportionment, and § 56 liability.

    Patricia Sweeney

    Patricia Sweeney-MacBride is a Partner at Vecchione, Vecchione, Connors & Cano, L.L.P. Prior to relocating back to the United States, Ms. Sweeney-MacBride lived and worked in Ireland for 7 years specializing in entertainment law, commercial litigation, and insurance law. Prior to moving to Ireland, she specialized in NY Workers’ Compensation Law for 7 years.

    She graduated from Fordham University with a major in Economics, Queens University (Belfast) with a masters degree in Human Rights Law (with commendation) and the University of Ulster with a Diploma in Legal Practice (with Distinction). She recently attended a mediation/negotiation course at Maynooth University at the invitation of the Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin.

    Ms. Sweeney-MacBride is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Law Society of Northern Ireland.
