    This two part CLE course will address the professional responsibilities that attorneys have prior to representing clients.

    The course will begin with solicitation and barratry including practices such as ambulance chasing as well as conduct, consequences, enforcement and other rules of professional conduct.

    Part two of the lecture will address the importance of engagement letters, what’s included in them and how they can and should reduce the risk of malpractice claims.

    Alexandra Yamron

    Alexandra Yamron is an In-House Trial Attorney at a top insurance company in Austin. She has over ten years of experience handling insurance defense cases including personal injury, property damage, transportation, municipality litigation, insurance coverage, nursing home, and medical malpractice.

    She has successfully tried multiple cases to jury verdict in both Illinois and Texas.


    Donald Eckler

    Donald Patrick Eckler is a Partner in Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP’s Chicago office. He is a highly experienced litigator who focuses his practice on defending lawyers, accountants, insurance brokers, and other professionals in a variety of civil disputes in state and federal courts across Illinois and Indiana. His practice ranges from representing insurers in coverage disputes to defending professionals, businesses, and tort defendants in complex litigation.

    Mr. Eckler’s commercial litigation experience involves complex contract disputes and class-action lawsuits. His coverage practice for insurers and the insured involves commercial general liability and personal lines policies, issues involving the duty to defend and indemnify, bad faith, and the application of exclusions.

    His tort defense work spans the representations of product manufacturers and distributors, trucking and transportation clients, and premises owners.
