  • Description

Landlord tenant courts are, and will be for the foreseeable future, stretched beyond their limits by the COVID pandemic and related government shutdowns. This will be especially complicated when the eviction moratoria is lifted. This CLE course provides both tenants and landlords with tips and strategies to avoid court backlogs and address how trial courts are dealing with impossibility of contract and other defenses related to COVID-19.

The course will also offer an update on the moratorium on commercial eviction and provides a preview of pending legislation in Albany that is relevant to these issues. The course will provide landlords and tenants an overview of their rights, motivation and tools for productive settlement talks and paths to minimize business disruptions.
