About This Course
The COVID-19 pandemic has created a shockwave throughout every industry worldwide, but perhaps none so much as health care. The sweeping changes impact not only the health issues involved, but the legal ones as well. This CLE course will explore the key legal issues that practitioners and facilities should consider in developing and implementing their response to the pandemic, both on a long and short term basis. The course will explain President Trump’s Declaration of a National Emergency and the impact on providers as well as waivers of CMS conditions, Section 1335 waivers, relaxation of certain HIPAA provisions, supply change management, EMTALA guidance for COVID-19 patients, and the impact of physician reallocation and liability issues. Due to the dynamic nature of the topic, additional topics may be added as they become relevant.
