Accreditation and CLE Rules for Louisiana
United Institute for Continuing Legal Education offers CLE courses accredited in many states throughout the country. While we do not directly accredit our courses in Louisiana, our courses qualify for Louisiana credit approval pursuant to the Rules for Continuing Legal Education of the Supreme Court of Louisiana. LA attorneys must self-apply for course approval of United CLE courses and need to submit a certificate of attendance along with this form and a $20.00 application fee: LA CLE Credit App.
*Considering the continued need to take measures to stop the spread of COVID-19, the Louisiana Supreme Court has issued an Order lifting the online MCLE limit for 2021 from 4 hours to 12.5 hours
Louisiana attorneys must complete 12.5 CLE credit hours per year, including at least 1 credit in Ethics and 1 credit in Professionalism. LA attorneys may earn up to 4 CLE credit hours from United Institute for Continuing Legal Education, including Ethics and Professionalism credits using our Online & iOS/Android App formats.
Any credits earned via prerecorded programming in excess of the four credit limit, will not carry over from one compliance period into the next.
