About This Course
The Brownfield Cleanup Program was supposed to remediate the contamination of former industrial sites for new uses. But just as states across the country were to implement it, a new class of contaminants called “Emerging Contaminants” or “Forever Chemicals” arose, complicating the sites’ development.
This CLE course will explain the benefits of the Brownfield Cleanup Programs and explain the various financial and liability release incentives it contains. Ongoing issues with this remediation including eligibility challenges, risks associated with emerging contaminants such as PFA’s and 1,4-dioxanes will be presented as well as success stories and cautionary tales from the New York Brownfield program.
