Niraj Chhabra is the Managing Director of SideBar Advisors. Prior to that, he was an advisor with Ameriprise Financial for the last 16 years. He leads his firm, SideBar Advisors, which concentrates on clients in the legal profession, offering attorneys holistic financial planning and complimentary educational workshops.

My approach
A unique and disciplined approach What makes my practice unique is my focus on clients in the legal profession. I strive to help attorneys at all stages of their careers to grow ?nancially as they grow within their profession. I do this by providing holistic ?nancial planning and complimentary educational workshops. My goal is to help attorneys navigate through their unique tax challenges and modify their financial plan as their careers evolve.

Kevin R. Centurrino, Esq.
Kevin concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, estate administration and Medicaid planning.
Kevin is experienced in drafting both simple and complex estate planning documents – including wills, revocable trusts, special needs trusts, life insurance trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts, financial powers of attorney and living wills and health care treatment powers of attorney – with a focus on implementing his clients’ objectives in a tax-efficient manner customized for their personal circumstances.
Kevin is also experienced with counseling the executors, administrators, trustees, beneficiaries and creditors of estates and trusts. His estate and trust administration practice includes advising clients with respect to probate (including holographic wills and writings intended as a will), the preparation of federal and state gift, estate and inheritance tax returns, beneficiary disputes and the distribution of estates and trusts. Kevin is also well experienced in post-mortem planning, including preparing qualified disclaimers, counseling clients on trust modifications and negotiating and drafting settlement and distribution agreements.
Kevin speaks publicly on estate planning and administration for professional and community organizations, has lectured for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education and the New York City Bar Association, and has authored numerous articles for the New Jersey Law Journal, including “Warning: 529 Accounts May Be Subject to NJ Inheritance Tax” and “Taking Advantage of FDIC Insurance Loopholes Could Impede Your Estate Plan”. Kevin is also an active member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Estate Planning Council of Northern New Jersey and the Morris County Bar Association

Before joining Berkowitz Lichtstein in 2020, Kevin spent over a decade practicing estate planning and administration with a local well-regarded tax firm.
