About This Course
Many in the legal field believe that jurors are swayed by emotions, bias and personal preference. This hour-long CLE course will make the case that what most influences jurors is the evidence. The course will use that as the basis for a presentation on why medical professionals should testify about critical chart entries bearing on liability, damages and proximate causes as well as the benefit of medical evidence obtained from the original author versus an expert. The course will explain the risks involved in calling a medical witness without prior discussion before they take the stand.
The second part of the course will offer strategies on jury selection, open statements, direct and cross examination, attacks on credibility and how to handle experts on the witness stand.
