Lecturer Bio
Robert M. Spadaro, Esq.
Robert M. Spadaro started his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn, New York. From there he entered the civil field with Morris, Duffy, Ivone & Jensen where he learned the civil side; his short stay there was followed by a stint with Garbarini, Scher & DeCicco where he earned a reputation as a successful civil trial attorney. Thereafter Bob started his own office which he operated for over 30 years.
The bulk of Bob’s trial experience has been as a prosecutor and civil defense attorney in tort litigation. But Bob has also acted as trial counsel in plaintiff tort and medical malpractice actions.
In all Bob has taken approximately 155 jury verdicts. Most of his trials were conducted in Brooklyn the Bronx and Manhattan.
They included several “hits-in the rear” (See photos at 1A & 1B above) in which he successfully defended the driver of the striking auto claiming that the accident was the fault of the driver of the front vehicle.
Perhaps the greatest compliment any trial attorney can receive was given to Bob by way of a phone call from a juror: “Mr. Spadaro, I am one of the jurors who was on your case in the Bronx yesterday. I want to apologize to you for taking so long to return a verdict.” “I was getting a little worried there”, Bob told him. “Oh no, we had a verdict 5-1 in your favor in two minutes. One of the jurors kept saying that we should just give the guy some money. But we wanted you to have a unanimous verdict, so we kept talking to him until he agreed.”
Bob would be pleased to discuss trial issues with you as they arise. You can contact him at rmspadaro@rmspadaro.com. And 917-903-1241. Email to start is preferable.
