Questions about religious expression in the courtroom—such as whether an attorney may wear a yarmulke during proceedings—highlight the intersection of faith, professional ethics, and constitutional law. This CLE program explores how U.S. courts have addressed religious head coverings under the First Amendment and related doctrines, and how those rulings compare with perspectives found in Jewish law (Halacha). Through discussion of key cases and practical examples, participants will gain insight into balancing personal religious obligations with courtroom decorum and professional responsibilities.
