About This Course
Employers and their legal representatives face significant challenges when federal disability and leave laws converge with state-level workers’ compensation systems. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA/ADAAA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and various state workers’ comp laws each impose detailed obligations—but it's the overlap among them that often creates confusion and increases the risk of legal exposure.
This CLE program will provide attorneys with practical strategies and legal insights to help clients manage these intersecting requirements. Key topics will include distinguishing between qualifying conditions under the ADA and FMLA, determining eligibility for ADA/ADAAA accommodations, and understanding how a workers’ compensation claim may impact or be impacted by an employee’s rights under federal leave laws.
