About This Course
The era of lawyers spending their entire careers at a single firm is largely over. Today, legal professionals frequently transition to new firms, navigating a maze of complex and often conflicting ethical and legal rules. Balancing their personal rights with their obligations to current and future firms—and most crucially, to their clients—is essential.
In this CLE course, Ronald Minkoff, an experienced attorney with extensive expertise in facilitating lateral moves for both lawyers and firms, will provide detailed guidance on the following key areas:
Navigating the legal and ethical challenges when preparing for a move.
Properly giving notice to your existing firm.
Approaching the solicitation of colleagues and clients.
Managing the transition of client files.
Fairly dividing fees in ongoing matters.
Gain practical, step-by-step advice on how to successfully and ethically manage every aspect of a lateral move in the legal profession.
