Accreditation and CLE Rules for Virginia
Courses purchased through the United Institute for Continuing Legal Education are provided and fully accredited by The National Academy of Continuing Legal Education, an approved Virginia State Bar MCLE Accredited Sponsor.
National Academy of Continuing Legal Education is an approved Virginia State Bar MCLE Accredited Sponsor. All courses offered by the National Academy of Continuing Legal Education have been directly approved by the Virginia State Bar MCLE Department. The Virginia State Bar maintains a list of Approved Course Sponsors on their website. You can find us listed under "The National Academy of Continuing Legal Education."
Virginia attorneys must complete 12 credits including 2 Ethics credits per year. 8 of the 12 credits can be satisfied with On-Demand Distance Learning courses and the remaining 4 credits must be satisfied with Live Interactive classes. Virginia attorneys can complete all 12 CLE credits with the National Academy of Continuing Legal Education using our Online & iOS/Android App distance learning courses and our Live Interactive Webinar Courses. The compliance period ends on October 31st. Attorneys may carryover 12 credit hours into the next compliance period including 2 Ethics credits and 8 distance learning credits. Attorneys must self-report completion of CLE. The reporting deadline is December 15th.
