Resolving liens can be one of the more challenging aspects of settling a personal injury case. This CLE course examines the major types of lien claims that may affect settlement proceeds and the issues attorneys should consider when identifying, evaluating, and negotiating those claims. The program will address the legal and practical considerations associated with Medicaid, Medicare, VA, ERISA, and workers’ compensation liens, including strategies for challenging or reducing lien amounts and protecting as much of the settlement as possible for the client.
