  • Description

Websites rely on Section 230 to protect them from liability for third party content and the protections have only grown as time has gone by. And yet, the question of the degree of criminal activity and misinformation that is being enabled by the open arena of the internet is constantly being weighed. This CLE course will explain the origins of Section 230 and provide a comprehensive understanding of its purpose and goals. The course will then explain how the law has been taken advantage. The course will conclude with a roundtable discussion on the reform recommendations in June 2020 published by the US Department of Justice.
