    All IRA’s follow a system of basic taxation rules. These apply to Traditional IRA’s, Roth IRA’s, SEP IRA’s and SIMPLE IRA’s. This CLE course will offer a detailed overview of these rules as well as the prohibited transaction and unrelated taxable income rules that may apply to retirement accounts.

    The course will present the history of the US retirement system as well as the contribution, distribution and other tax rules that relate to specific IRA’s. An investigation of investment trends in the IRA world, including the growing world of alternative asset investments such as real estate and cryptocurrency, will be addressed.

    Adam Bergman

    Prior to starting IRA Financial, Mr. Bergman was a tax and ERISA attorney at White & Case LLP, Dewey LeBoeuf LLP, and Thelen LLP, three of the most prominent corporate law firms in the world. He received his B.A. (with distinction) from McGill University and his law degree (cum laude) from Syracuse University College of Law. He then went on to receive his Masters of Taxation (LL.M.) from New York University School of Law. He is a member of the Tax Division of the American Bar Association and New York State Bar Association.
