    The art of attracting publicity is sometimes inborn, but is often learned. Why some attorneys are constantly quoted and swarmed by press may be more about who they know than what they know. If you want reporters to come calling, you better make sure they know who you are. But how to do that ethically, without breaching the Rules of Professional Conduct? That is a learned art. This CLE course will prepare you to speak about your cases safely and within the boundaries of ethics. The course will explain how to comment on cases in the news, or explain how regulation changes may impact businesses as well as other topics while staying well within the right side of ethics regulations. The course will also explain how to create a media profile to introduce you to the press and create a specific, well designed image. How to present yourself as a reliable source, prepare materials and prepare to be quoted on a wide range of cases will all be discussed.

    Kenneth Dobson

    Kenneth Craig Dobson is Of Counsel at Crystal & Giannoni-Crystal, LLC (an international law and ethics law firm), where he practices both immigration and ethics law. He has a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from Furman University and a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from New England School of Law. During law school, he received CALI awards in both the Law and Ethics of Lawyering and International Business Transactions and served as Editor-in-Chief of the New England Journal of International and Comparative Law.

    He previously served as UPL Liaison for the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s Georgia-Alabama Chapter and was appointed by the Supreme Court of Georgia to serve as Chairperson of the District 1 UPL Committee for the State Bar of Georgia from 2014 to 2017. He is currently vice chair of the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s National Ethics Committee. In October of 2017, he became one of the first National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coaches.


    Janet Falk

    Janet Falk is a Communications professional with more than 30 years of experience in-house and at public relations agencies. She advises attorneys at small law firms and with a solo practice on Media Relations and Marketing Communications to: attract new clients, remain top of mind with prior clients, keep in touch with referral sources, help recruit associates, generate a news story about litigation that puts pressure on opposing counsel and achieve business goals.
