  • Description
Long-term care and nursing homes are often the most viable option for the elderly. Trained staff, good facilities and geographical proximity are just some of the considerations that prompt people to make this decision for their elder family members. And when all of the research fails to turn up a history of abuse and neglect, many assume that litigation against such facilities is futile. This CLE course is designed to argue with that notion. The course will review numerous successful litigation suits against nursing home and long-term care facilities as well as the strategies for litigating long-term care malpractice and liability claims in Illinois. The course will review wrongful death and injury suits, the process of initiating legal action and the applicable laws and statutes to consider. The role of the justice system in protecting the elderly population will also be discussed.
