    Amongst the myriad Acts that employers must adhere to, ERISA is one for which non-compliance can have severe ramifications. Who and what is subject to ERISA, and the welfare benefit plan options are all reviewed in this CLE course. The course will also discuss Employee Welfare Benefit Plans, exemptions, partial applications, and documentation requirements. The course will also review the various ramifications for non-compliance, which may include anything from fines to imprisonment and the function of wrap plans in avoiding this outcome.

    Stephen Herbes

    Stephen F. Herbes is Assistant General Counsel at the 1199 SEIU National Benefit and Pension Funds. He graduated from Harvard Law School and earned an LLM in taxation from New York University School of Law. A Certified Public Accountant and Certified Employee Benefits Specialist, Mr. Herbes has written and lectured extensively on qualified retirement plans, employee benefits, and executive compensation arrangements.
