    Brian Shenker

    Brian J. Shenker, Esq. is a labor and employment attorney who represents employers in all labor and employment matters. His experience encompasses a wide range of matters in the employer/employee relationship, including wage and hour compliance, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, breach of employment agreements, restrictive covenants, family and medical leave, independent contractor classifications, labor relations, employment policies,health and safety, non-competition and confidentiality agreements.

    Brian has also represented management in a variety of labor relations matters, including unfair labor practices and union organizing efforts.Brian has represented employers in wage and hour matters and has handled Department of Labor investigations and negotiations. In addition, he has defended employers before the National Labor Relations Board and other administrative agencies. Brian also focuses his practice on assisting employers in taking preemptive approaches to employment matters, such as drafting employee handbooks and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. He advises clients regarding matters such as ADA accommodations, sexual harassment, hiring and termination decisions, employee discipline, and the implementation of personnel policies.

    Rita DiStefano

    Rita DiStefano joined PMP in 2005 after working for a large global company for over 20 years overseeing HR for their Nassau and Suffolk County locations. During her tenure, she gained expertise in the field of recruitment, training, benefits, employee relations, performance management and compensation.

    At PMP, Rita currently offers clients her expertise in HR Consulting including services such as policy development, interactive management training, job descriptions, compensation analysis; she provides guidance on employee handbooks, developing and implementing performance management programs, employee relations, recruiting, discipline and termination. Where no HR department exists, Rita provides on-site HR services or augments clients' HR department with either on-site or off-site support.

    Rita is past Chair of the Board of Directors of the HIA-LI, now serving as a member of the Executive Committee and liaison to the Young Business Professionals Committee of that organization. She has served as Chair of the Suffolk County Workforce Investment Board for the Department of Labor after receiving an appointment for that position from Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy. She also served as Chair of the C.W. Post Employee Advisory Board. Currently Rita is Co-Chair of the LI STEM Hub’s Regional Industry Council for Advanced Manufacturing.
