About This Course
This CLE program examines the rapidly evolving role of artificial intelligence in the delivery of legal services, with particular focus on both generative systems and emerging agentic technologies capable of autonomous task execution. As AI becomes embedded in research, drafting, client communication, and workflow automation, attorneys must understand how these tools intersect with their ethical and professional responsibilities.
The session analyzes key areas of risk and compliance, including the duty of technological competence, protection of confidential information, supervision of nonlawyer assistance, avoidance of unauthorized practice of law, and the preservation of independent professional judgment. Attendees will gain a structured framework for evaluating AI tools, implementing internal safeguards, and aligning usage with applicable Rules of Professional Conduct.
Through practical scenarios, regulatory guidance, and risk-management strategies, this program equips practitioners to deploy AI systems thoughtfully—enhancing efficiency while maintaining ethical integrity and client trust.
