Lecturer Bio

Neal A. Roberts, Esq.

Neal Roberts, the Managing Partner of ProtectUS Law, is an attorney licensed in California and the District of Columbia with more than 45 years’ experience in various aspects of law. After a career as a law professor and then practicing law with a big law firm, Neal joined an even bigger accounting firm. In his 15 years with the accounting firms, he testified in and designed the strategy for the damages phases of various trials involving tens to hundreds of millions of dollars.

In the midst of this work, Neal discovered that a group of the professional firms were defrauding the Federal Government of tens of millions of dollars in illicit kickbacks regarding the travel expenses they charged to their clients. With this information, Neal blew the whistle, and brought a series of lawsuits upon behalf of the Federal Government. The travel alliances investigation led to discovery that these same professional firms had a series of similar alliances with the big technology companies. Neal then brought another series of lawsuits upon behalf of the Federal Government and recovered over $400 Million for the people of the United States.

Neal Roberts has spent the last twenty years of his career pursuing large organizations which are defrauding the Government or causing harm to individuals.

In 2022 he developed the legal strategy to bring a series of cases upon behalf of parents and their adolescent children diagnosed with Anorexia who have been harmed by the machine-based messaging from Instagram. Protectus along with co-counsel Lieff Cabreser have filed a number of cases for those parents and is in the process of filing many more.

Neal enjoys analyzing a complex wrong to make it right, with dogged persistence and occasional brilliance. His cases have resulted in dramatically changing the behavior of corporate actors, some of the most powerful social organizations in society.
