Your Texas MCLE compliance year is a one-year period that begins on the first day of the month you were born. It ends one year later on the last day of the month that precedes your birth month.
Each attorney has an automatic grace period, the end of his or her birth month, in which to complete and report MCLE hours for that compliance year. All your Texas CLE must be completed and reported (received by the MCLE Director) by the last day of the birth month in order to avoid a non-compliance penalty fee.
In response to COVID-19 The State Bar of Texas has issued a 60 day extension for attorneys due in March, April, and May of 2020.
Texas attorneys may carry over up to 15 credits for 12 months.
