About This Course
Private investigators can be a critical resource in building a case but effectively using them requires attorneys to understand the rules governing investigative work, attorney-investigator communications, and the handling of investigative materials.
This CLE course examines how to engage and work with private investigators throughout the litigation process, from defining the scope of an investigation and protecting work-product privilege to navigating ethical obligations and avoiding potential legal pitfalls. Attendees will also learn how to assess and incorporate investigative findings, reports, witness information, and other evidence into case strategy, trial preparation, and courtroom presentation.
