This course was prepared in conjunction with the National Association for Public Defense. By viewing this CLE by I am affirming that today I am neither a prosecutor nor viewing this course with the purpose of aiding the prosecution of any criminally accused. The landscape of DNA dystopia is difficult to navigate. This CLE course will explain how to manage in this environment of DNA collection of minors, rogue database expansion, the spread of rapid DNA and how genealogical databases can be mined by law enforcement. The course will describe how forensic databases may be linked with genealogical ones and what that might mean for a client. Participants will walk away with strategies and tips for fighting threats to privacy as genetic surveillance continues to expand and strengthen.
