How can attorneys expand their practices without crossing ethical lines? This CLE program takes a practical look at the rules that govern lawyer advertising, solicitation, and client communications, offering clear guidance on what is permitted—and what isn’t.
The session begins with a discussion of recent ethics opinions and disciplinary decisions, then moves into an analysis of Rules 7.1–7.5, 5.7, and 5.8, along with proposed amendments that could reshape the marketing landscape. From there, faculty will explore strategies for ethically leveraging a wide range of tools: traditional advertising, earned media, newsletters, digital platforms, website development, SEO, and social media.
